A cool season grass that stays green all winter but can decline in summers heat. Turf type fescues are improved fescue varieties. They have finer blades, deeper root systems and are more disease and drought resistant. They grow well in shade.
After installing fescue sod, water about every 2 or 3 days depending on the temperature. It will take about 3 weeks for the sod to root into the ground. Once the sod is rooted it will require 1" inch of water per week.
Mowing height should be maintained at a height of 3-4 inches.
Fertilizer should be applied in early Spring and Fall using slow release fertilizers.
